PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Monosodium glutamate (E621) is a salt form of the amino acid glutamic acid, used as a flavor enhancer in foods. It is a white crystalline powder that dissolves easily in water and has umami – the fifth basic taste after sweet, sour, bitter and salty. Monosodium glutamate is used to enhance the natural flavor of foods, including soups, sauces, meat and fish products, canned goods and other products.

Production:
Obtained by fermenting carbohydrates such as corn or sugar cane, followed by neutralization of glutamic acid with sodium.
