PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Methyl alcohol (methanol) is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. It has a high solvency and a low freezing point. Methanol is widely used in the oil and gas industry for pipeline maintenance, gas processing and as a hydrate inhibitor.

Methanol is obtained by steam reforming natural gas with subsequent synthesis in the presence of a catalyst.

APPLICATIONS

– Hydrate inhibitor in gas pipelines: Prevents the formation of natural gas hydrates under low temperature and high pressure conditions. Increases the efficiency of gas transportation.

– Cleaning of pipelines and equipment: Used to remove water, oils and organic deposits from pipelines and equipment. Used as a solvent for cleaning resinous residues.

– Natural gas dehydration: Removes moisture from natural gas in preparation for transportation and storage.

– Fuel component: Used as an additive to motor fuel to reduce emissions and improve combustion efficiency.

– Chemical feedstock: Used as a starting material for the production of formaldehyde, solvents, and other chemical products.
