Butyl glycol is a colorless liquid with a faint specific odor, which has high solvent properties. It is an effective solvent for water-dispersion paints, varnishes, adhesives, and is also the main component in the production of construction chemicals.

Chemical formula: C6H14O2

It is obtained by the reaction of butyl alcohol with ethylene oxide. Due to its physicochemical properties, butyl glycol is widely used in the construction industry.

APPLICATIONS

– Paint and varnish production: It is used as a solvent and plasticizer in water-dispersion and alkyd paints, ensuring uniformity of composition and improving application characteristics. Helps improve paint flow and reduce drying speed to achieve an even coating layer.
