PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Butyl glycol (butoxyethanol) is a colorless liquid with a slight odor, which has a high solvent capacity. Due to its versatile properties, in particular the ability to emulsify and dissolve organic compounds, butyl glycol is widely used in the oil and gas industry.

Chemical formula: C6H14O2

Butyl glycol is obtained by alkylation of ethylene glycol or through oxidation processes.

APPLICATIONS

– Solvent for cleaning equipment and pipelines: Used for cleaning drilling and transportation equipment from oil, lubricants, resinous deposits and other contaminants. Used in the processes of cleaning the internal surfaces of pipelines.

– Chemical Reagent Component: Serves as a basis for creating reagents used in drilling fluids and gas production.

– Emulsifier and Stabilizer: Used to create stable emulsions in oil and gas processing processes.

– Anti-Corrosion Treatment: Added to anti-corrosion solutions to protect equipment in aggressive environments.

– Water Treatment Applications: Used as a dispersant to remove contaminants in water treatment systems.
