PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Sulfuric acid 98% is a transparent, colorless or slightly yellowish liquid with high viscosity and strong corrosive activity. Due to its maximum concentration, this product has powerful oxidizing and dehydrating properties, which makes it indispensable in many processes of the metallurgical industry.

Chemical formula: H₂SO₄

It is obtained by the contact method by oxidizing sulfur dioxide (SO₂) with subsequent absorption of sulfur trioxide (SO₃) in water.

APPLICATIONS

– Etching of metals: used to clean metal surfaces from oxides, rust and other impurities before painting, coating or welding.

– Non-ferrous metal production: used to leach non-ferrous metals such as copper, nickel and zinc from ores.

– Metal refining: used to purify ferrous and non-ferrous metals from unwanted impurities, improving the quality of the final product.

– Gas purification: used to remove impurities such as hydrogen sulfide from blast furnace or process gas.

– Metal sulfate production: used in the synthesis of iron, copper, magnesium and other metal sulfates used in various industrial and agricultural sectors.

– Equipment cleaning: used to remove mineral deposits and limescale from pipelines, tanks and heat exchangers.

– Electroplating processes: a key component in the processes of applying electrolytic coatings to metal surfaces.
