PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Butyl diglycol is a colorless liquid with a faint characteristic odor. Due to its high solvency and low evaporation, it is widely used in the production of building materials, in particular paints and varnishes, adhesives, sealants and concrete additives.

Chemical formula: C8H18O3

It is obtained by the reaction of butyl alcohol with ethylene oxide in several stages. Butyl diglycol is characterized by high stability and the ability to mix with water and organic solvents.

APPLICATIONS

– In the production of paints and varnishes: It is used as a plasticizer and solvent in water-dispersion and alkyd paints to improve their fluidity and uniform application.
Provides long drying time to form a smooth and durable coating.

– In construction chemistry: Added to primers and sealants to increase their adhesion, elasticity and resistance to external influences. Used in the production of additives to concrete and cement mortars to improve their plasticity and reduce cracking.

– Glue production: Is a component in glues and adhesives, contributing to increasing their durability and elasticity.

– For surface cleaning: Used as a component of products for degreasing and cleaning building materials and surfaces before processing.
